Iran and the end times

There is a lot of news these days about nation of Iran and the possibility of Iran developing nuclear weapons. Seems that the rest of the world is opposed to this becoming a reality. Due to the widespread resistance to this and the defiant stand that Iran has taken, I can't help but think about the prophecy concerning the anti-christ and how he will come in, make peace for a while and then rule the world for a period of time. With all other nations against Iran having nuclear production and the hard stand that Iran is taking, could this be the beginning of Armageddon? World situations such as this causes one to stop and consider how the event fits into Bibical prophecy.

Good point and does cause one to "pause and calmly think"...so now, what is the conclusion? What action should be taken?

John Hagee, (anyone out there a John Hagee fan or not?)... John Hagee, in his literature, writes how he was given information by sources he has access to that 'are predicting a military pre-emptive strike that would possibly occur in Israel between April and October 2006'. He states that he thinks it will occur sooner than later if Iran does not yield to the pressure. He alludes this could be the 'birthing of the war of Ezekial 38:39'. He also states in his literature to sell his most recent book, "Jerusalem Countdown" that 'Iran's president has said, "Israel must be wiped off from the map of the world."'

I don't know if anyone reading this ever followed Hal Lindsey's news reports, but if you did, you would figure out pretty quickly he definitely thinks nuclear holocaust is just a matter of time and that it is without question part of bible prophecy. His books paint pretty dire pictures of the future. By the way, did you know that Trinity Broadcast Network *booted* his show off their network because he was so outspoken about Islam and it's followers? Too much so for their comfort. I guess it might be kind of hard to preach the Gospel to them in their homes through the satelites and then have Hal on next calling things for what they are. No watered down version with Hal. (by the way I quickly checked his web page to make sure of my facts but was unable to verify how correct I am as to the who's and what's of getting the *boot*)

I accepted the free gift of forgiveness and committed my life to God's leadership in 1979. Since then, there have been regular end time warnings. One thing for sure, we are closer now than before. The first twelve thought it would be in their lifetime. They guessed wrong. We expect it in ours.

Keith Green (not known for his theological credentials - but I thought still very wise) would say, "pray for pre [rapture] but prepare for post [rapture]". Net, it is good to watch and understand these things but I have too often seen them become a focal point which is not our Lord's intent.

The blogger at CreativeLiberty.com put their two cents worth out in blogspere on Iran.

"We are living in a moment of history that demands our attention. We have the opportunity to witness the prevention of another holocaust. I wonder what will become of this situation? It is like watching the beginning of World War 2 except its 2006. This is the issue that should be exploited by the media, not who Cheny shot or Muslims getting upset over cartoons. There are many solutions pending... read full post.
